Students from the FEEM and the FEU, from the FAR and young people from the community, responded to the call of the UJC to, together with popular participation, achieve the recovery of the territory.
Youth has become the protagonist these days in the compensation of the damages caused by Ida, a category I hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale that for two hours punished the geography of this Special Municipality.
Cleaning of streets, parks, educational centers, unblocking avenues, among others, are the actions undertaken by the newcomers, mobilized in their communities by the Union of Young Communists, in response to the call of the Municipal Defense Council.
"We said present, because it is our duty and, also, on our own initiative, since that is our mission and the best way to contribute to the recovery after passing through our land of this hydrometeorological phenomenon”, said Lissette González Almésigas, first secretary of the UJC in Isla de la Juventud.
She commented the youth leader that the entire universe was immediately mobilized in all the Popular Councils and work brigades were formed to clean up the neighborhoods, where the meteor caused a lot of damage to trees, fences and light roofs.
"We are fundamentally focused on helping residents with partial and total damages from the event, a very humane way of assisting the victims," she explained.
The youth organization mobilized students from the FEEM and the FEU, the FAR and young people from the community, to together with popular participation achieve the recovery of the territory in the shortest possible time.
For his part, Rafael Licea, rector of the Jesús Montané Oropesa University, called from his Facebook account to students and workers to recover the areas and premises of the House of High Studies for the start of the school year in person from the favorable epidemiological situation of the territory.
The tasks are also carried out with full respect for the biosecurity, hygiene and physical isolation measures established in the Health protocols and with the banner of the youth's willingness to participate, once the territory is recovered, in the tasks related to the strategy of municipal development, which will ultimately contribute to local self-sufficiency and a superior quality of life for the population.
