Description of the procedure: It is for drivers who already have a Driving License and want to obtain a new category.

Requirements: It is necessary to be 18 years old, except for the special military license, which only requires 17 years.

Documents to present: The applicant must present, for any procedure to be carried out, the Identity Card.

Note:
The applicant must take into account that to obtain category C or D, a minimum of 2 years of experience in category B is required, and for category E, 2 years of experience in the lower categories, C or D, all applicants To a higher category you must present, updated medical check-up, Certificate of the School of Road Safety, to carry out the theoretical and practical exams.

Description of the procedure: You can request the renewal of your License at the Driving License Center of the corresponding territory, on the expiration date or one year before the expiration of the same. You must be 18 years old.

• Documents to be submitted:
• I.D
• Driving license

Photos: two photos without a hat or cap, if you wear glasses, you must be portrayed with them.

Stamp Stamps: Present a total of $ 15.00 in stamps stamped for each category it has.
Notes:
If you are over 65 years of age, you must present the evaluation of your physical condition by the Medical Commission of the medical center in your area of ​​residence and accredit them before the Driving License Center, an action that must be repeated every two years, to revalidate the license. .
If you are abroad, hospitalized, serving a sentence, mobilized, or similar, you will have 90 days to renew after the cessation of your disability.

Response term: Immediate.


Practical test:

The applicant must deliver to the specialist for whom he will be evaluated in the practical exam, the School certificate, medical exam, two photos and the learner's permit, and take an exam where the parameters established in the Road Safety code will be evaluated.

Approve: The driving license will be prepared and delivered to you at the time.

Suspend: The driver will appear twice more for a period of at least seven days. If it is disapproved on the third opportunity, the applicant can start the process again at any time, upon presentation of the current documentation and the payment of tax on documents established in the regulations.

The aforementioned procedures will be mandatory for all applicants who request a new degree and a new higher category, C, D, E and FE.

Note:

The different procedures carried out in our Driving License Units are personal.
All applicants are advised that the application documents for obtaining a new title or a new category once the procedures have begun in a certain province are not valid in another province, so it must start again from the beginning.

Approximate duration time:

Obtaining a medical certificate: this is given in the duration of a medical consultation, except those that, due to their particularities, carry out other procedures as determined by the medical commission.
Obtaining the certificate endorsed by the Ministry of Transport and the National Organ in charge of traffic safety: They are given in the estimated time that the institutions determine that the driver is ready to carry out said activity.

Description of the procedure: Obtaining the Driving License for the first time, for Cuban citizens, Temporary Resident Foreigners and Permanent Resident Foreigners.

Requirements: The Driving License is issued to people over 18 years of age with the exceptions of the Military Special, which can be granted from the age of 17, at the request of the Military institution and except for payment. In accordance with the provisions of Article 268 of the Road Safety Code, category (A1), can be granted from 16 years of age.
For any procedure to carry out a Driving License it is mandatory to present the Identity Card.

For information:

1- Present at the polyclinic in your area of ​​residence, to perform the medical examination. According to Article 270 of the Road Safety Code, if it is suitable for the medical commission, appear at the School of Road Education to process the course that accredits by certificate, its approval.
2- The Certificates are endorsed by the Ministry of Transport and the National Organ in charge of traffic safety. According to Article 254 of the Road Safety Code.
The applicant may appear at the Territorial Driving License Center to which he belongs once he obtains the certificate that the previous numbers legalize.
In the Special Municipality the Theoretical Exams are carried out from Monday to Friday.
Applicants who request the Practical exams in the F and FE category can be presented in our municipal procedures units.
Applicants who request the practical exams in the A, B and C categories can be presented in the Procedures unit in Nueva Gerona.
In the municipality the practical exams are carried out in the categories: A, B, C, D, E and in the sub categories: A-1, C-1 and D-1.

To take the Theoretical Exam you must present:

Certificates that legitimize the Medical examination and the School of Road Education
Stamps: Stamp $ 30.00 in stamped stamps.
To request the theoretical exam, according to Articles 273 and 274, the applicant has three opportunities.The theoretical exam grade is obtained on the spot.
To suspend: The applicant has the right to appear three times, to suspend once, he will appear twice more for a period of at least seven days.
If approved: The applicant is granted a Driving Learner's Permit, for a term of six months, extendable for an additional six months for a value of $ 30.00 CUP in stamped stamps.

Learner's permit to drive: The learner's permit is issued, which allows you to drive on authorized roads, with a companion with the same category to which you aspire and with at least three years of driving experience, this certificate has a term of six months, extendable for six months, for a value of $ 30.00 CUP in stamp stamps.

Description of the procedure:

Article 290/ Road Safety Code states that - The incumbent drivers, sanctioned to cancellation of the driver's license, are required to expire and pass a course of driver education and driving duly certified by the authorized institution, as a prerequisite to opt for a new license, after the time of cancellation.

Article 291 /Road Safety Code states that -Owned drivers may reduce a portion of the points accumulated by traffic notifications or the period of administrative penalty of suspension of the driver's license if they voluntarily opt for theoretical and practical reexaminations.

Article 292.-The Minister of the Interior may reduce the sanctioning framework of the sanction of the Administrative suspension of the driving license, to the drivers who in the thirty days subsequent to having incurred in some of the causes foreseen in Article 288, voluntarily present themselves to the corresponding Driving License body to comply with the sanction. They may also opt to undergo a theoretical and practical re-examination as an alternative measure to complying with the administrative sanction of suspension of the driving license.

Article 293.- The application of the measures set forth in articles 291 and 292 to drivers who:

1- They are detected driving under the effects of alcohol; drugs, hallucinogenic substances, hypnotics, narcotics or medicines with similar effects. Of any kind and under any circumstances; and
2- They have not paid the fine within the established term.

Approximate duration:

Once the theoretical examination has been passed: The Learning Permission will be given to the applicant at the time.

Notes

These theoretical and practical exams are carried out in the units of Municipal Proccedings of Pinar -1 and 2, being communicated immediately to the driver the results obtained.
In the practical exam: The applicant must present the learning permission to the specialist by whom it will be evaluated in the practical exam, carrying out an exam where the parameters established in the Road Safety Code will be evaluated.
